Florida Mandates Food Manager Certification 509.039 for Managers in Food & Beverage
Managers are required to complete this mandate within 30 days of hire. Certification cards are good for (5) five years.
A simple study guide is provided at the time of registration (in advance of the course) so that managers may review the information prior to attending the prep course. Those who have reviewed the study guide tend to score higher on the exam.
The food manager course and exam takes generally between 5 and 6 hours. This includes 2 1/2 – 3 hours for the prep course, a break for lunch and then up to 2 hours for the exam. There is a short break given during the course itself.
Exam Results are typically received within 1 to 2 weeks of attendance.
