Responsible Vendors, Inc provides the courses necessary for an establishment licensed to sell or serve alcoholic beverages to maintain compliance with the Florida Responsible Vendor Act.
Compliance with the Florida Responsible Vendor Act includes completing the Responsible Vendor Alcohol New Hire Course within 30 days of hire (15 days for managers) and completing a Tri-Annual Update Course every 4 months.
So that team members aren’t asked to repeat the same course every 4 months, our online store includes multiple alcohol courses.
Management will instruct team members as to which tri-annual update course to take each time. Only one 30 minute update should be taken every 4 months.
Our courses teach the laws and liabilities about serving and selling alcohol and working in a place where alcohol is served, sold and/or consumed. Subject matters include beverage alcohol service to underage guests, known habitual drunkards, and intoxicated customers, as well as illegal drug activity and the sale of tobacco products.
Participating establishments are provided with a Roadmap which helps managers navigate the online environment.
The Roadmap includes a sign required by law which must be displayed that indicates both age and I.D. checking requirements as well as the ramifications of drug activity.
If law enforcement visits your establishment, we ask that you please notify us right away. The Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco will leave a record of visit which we’ll ask you to send to us immediately.
In the event that an administrative case or civil suit is brought against the establishment with regard to the subject matter being taught in these courses, we are the agent of record and therefore, may provide necessary records of, and testify to, the training that was provided.
There must be a manager within the organization responsible for ensuring that staff completes courses in the time frame they are required to complete them in.
